Jessica Garland Medlock hails from Northeast Dallas, and has been teaching music lessons to students of all ages since 2006.

Jessica's musical journey began at a young age. Her parents played Kenny G's music around the house, and she was intrigued by the sounds of the soprano saxophone. Around age 10 or 11, Jess began playing the clarinet in her elementary school. She continued her involvement in music throughout her school years, participating in the school band and in various competitions, and in college she began playing and studying classical guitar. After transferring to Southern Methodist University, Jess received an opportunity to teach, and decided to go for it. She had been inspired by her harp teacher, Mary LeBus, who always encouraged her and helped her believe in herself and move forward in her career. Jess strives to be the same kind of teacher now, helping her students master their instrument one step at a time and building the self-confidence they need to keep moving forward.

In addition to teaching private lessons, along with her work teaching music classes with a local non-profit, Jess is active in the Dallas music scene, playing at weddings, art galleries, coffee shops, and festivals with her guitar and harp, and performing in a band with her husband, Wes. Highlights of her musical career have included releasing a mixtape with Wes and performing at The Dallas Observer Music Awards.
