Voice

Blessed Onaiwu's life has been full of music since early childhood. Beginning by singing in both the church choir and the school choir, and even playing trumpet for a time, Blessed has always had a passion for music. Her earliest musical memory was in the fourth grade, when she landed her first solo singing the Brady Bunch theme song in front of the entire school. She joined both the show choir and the jazz choir at her local high school and then let her passion lead her to Texas Woman's University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Music and Master's in Music Education. She took 4 years of voice lessons, and then went on serve as the personal assistant to the Music Coordinator of TWU, a job where she learned much about the practicalities of teaching. She also performed leading roles in operas and musicals like Die Zauberflote, Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, La Traviata, Dido and Aeneas.

Blessed has now been performing and teaching inside and outside the classroom for over ten years. She currently combines her love for music with her love for children as an elementary school music teacher in Frisco, TX, and is also a leader in her church. Blessed has also recently expanded her classroom internationally by adopting an underdeveloped school in Nigeria! She not only raises money to sponsor and purchase everyday school supplies for the school, but she also personally returns to visit them each summer with musical instruments and songs to spread the gift of music. Blessed believes that with love, patience, and music, she can impact every student that comes to her classroom both domestically and internationally.
