James Falcon has over 20 years of experience as a music educator in both private studios, and schools. He has a wonderful facility to teach every age group and level from elementary, to college, and beyond. James regularly teaches woodwinds, brass, and percussion in both group and private settings. With his efficient and flexible teaching style, James inspires a strong foundation of musicianship, and fosters musical enjoyment that enables his students to confidently attain their musical goals. James started playing guitar at the age of 9, and continued to study classical and jazz guitar in college with some of his favorite guitar teachers - Thad Bonduris, Eldon Chamblin, Joe Lee, and Tony Stanco. His passion for guitar music, and his love of learning inspires his students. James has developed effective guitar teaching methods that students love - and that translates to progress on the instrument.

James also teaches piano. As the son of a classical pianist, James has enjoyed piano music for as long as he can remember. He began studying piano in college and has developed an excellent approach to the instrument that is fun and effective for students of all ages. His piano lessons will have you playing songs from the very first lesson.

James started playing alto saxophone in the 5th grade, and switched to tenor sax in the 8th grade, and continued to play saxophone in high school. He earned a full saxophone scholarship from Rogers State University in Claremore, OK. Later, he attended Dallas College - Richland Campus, where he studied Music Theory and Composition with Dr. Jerry Wallace, and private saxophone with Jeff Robbins. James graduated Cum Laude, with a Jazz studies degree in saxophone performance from the University of North Texas.

His saxophone performance career started with Dallas' own Blues great Al 'TNT' Braggs, and he continues to perform in various local groups. As a professional saxophone player, he has experienced both national and international tours while playing with a multitude of outstanding performers.

James has also enjoyed performing and recording on electric bass, which he began playing in college as a diversion from his rigorous course-work. Before long, he was invited to perform with a variety of different groups, as his versatility, and musical style were noticed by many. James has worked as a bass/guitar teacher with Camp Jam for several years. He enables students to progress quickly with a step by step approach that ensures both musical enjoyment, and technical development from the very first note.

James' teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone can develop their musicality, and gain access to the amazing experience of playing music. Whether you’re just curious to try something new, or preparing for auditions, or looking to refresh and renew your craft - Mr. James Falcon can help you get there!
