David Mendoza is a true music lover. As a music fan, he began listening to music with the Beatles, and today is still a fan of Paul McCartney. He began playing music on guitar and bass on rock and roll. He has a hofner bass guitar; a carbon copy of Paul McCartney’s bass when he was with the Beatles. He uses it to play in pep band, jazz band, and of course, to play along with the Beatles.

David has also played the viola at his church with the church orchestra and at other churches as well. He is currently attending Texas Woman’s University to obtain a degree in music education, with a viola scholarship. David has performed mostly at his church and sometimes at a church in San Antonio; in addition, he has played piano at a nursing home in Richardson. David’s highlight in music was two years ago when he was asked to play piano at a Methodist church In Richardson and got to play Fur Elise by Beethoven.

His influence to music is his private teacher at Texas Woman’s University who really makes it fun to learn the viola. David has tutored at school and at students’ homes and he believes it to be a fun part of teaching to watch the student grow musically. David teaches his students’ to learn one lesson at a time.
