Piano, Flute
Nahid Akbari has been passionate about the arts since childhood. She got acquainted with the world of music through her family and developed an early interest in playing the piano. Nahid studied at Tehran Azad University and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design. While completing her degree she found that music was an inseparable part of her life, and so during this time she also had private lessons in piano and flute. After graduating with her BA, Nahid made the decision to pursue music professionally and continued her studies in Music at Tehran Conservatory of Music, where she obtained degrees in both Music Performance and Music Education.
Both performing and teaching music have been a great passion of Nahid's. She has been teaching as a private music tutor, of classical piano and flute, since 2005. She has worked with foreign children staying in Tehran, mostly within the Korean Community, teaching both beginner and intermediate levels. She teaches adults too, but especially enjoys working with children, watching them develop level by level in a fun and playful way. Nahid also works as an accompanist, she considers it a precious experience to be fortunate to work with vocal students in their practice and performance and to do flute accompaniment in some musical recitals, church services, and group concerts.
It is Nahid's goal to make the learning process productive, fun, and fulfilling, based on the desire and ability of the student as she strives to guide students in reaching their personal goals and meeting their highest level of excellence in music. Her teaching style takes in playing techniques, music theory, and sight-reading. She is excited to share the joy and knowledge of music with you from here and on.
