Miguel Ramirez first became interested in music when his father would take him to a store called Lone Star Music. There, he gravitated towards the guitar—though he didn’t know how to play it yet, he was already eager to try. One day, when he was 10 years old, he came home after school to find his father had surprised him with a guitar. From that moment on, he began to shape his passion for the instrument, taking private lessons all the way through high school.

After graduating, Miguel attended the University of North Texas in Denton, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music. While in college, he joined a local rock band, recording two songs professionally and shooting a music video. He performed with the band for four years and later joined a metalcore band, where he performed for two years. Throughout these experiences, he honed his skills as a performer and collaborator.

Currently, Miguel is working on a solo guitar album, which he plans to complete in 2025. A highlight of his musical journey was when he had the opportunity to show one of his songs to his childhood (and current) guitar idol, Steve Vai, who complimented Miguel’s technique and musicianship. With nearly 23 years of experience on the guitar, Miguel’s musical curiosity doesn’t stop there—he also learned piano while at the University of North Texas and taught himself bass guitar and ukulele.

Miguel has taught private music lessons since 2012. He has also worked as a music teacher in the Arlington ISD. He looks forward to the experiences he will share with his new students and hopes to make a positive impact on their musical journeys.
