Hongling Liang

Born in Jilin, China, pianist Hongling Liang received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Jinan University, with Hesong Wang as her primary teacher. She went on to obtain her Master’s degree at the Longy School of Music of Bard College with Rieko Aizawa as her primary instructor. Ms. Liang also studied with world-renowned pianists Peter Serkin and Robert Merfeld. In 2018, she completed the artist diploma program under the tutelage of Alexander Kobrin and Tatiana Muzanova at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. 

A mature and experienced pianist, Ms. Liang has successfully performed as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician at world-class venues such as Jordan Hall, Bill Heard Theatre, Legacy Hall, Granoff Music Center, Pickman Hall, Westport Town Hall, HingXai Concert Hall, Jinan University, and Southern Normal University. She has won prizes in numerous competitions including the Yangtze Piano Competition, Hong Kong International Piano Competition, and the Macaw International Piano Competition.

Hongling is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Music degree in collaborative piano at University of North Texas, in the studio of Dr. Steven Harlos and Dr. Elvia Puccinelli.
