Lucas Albano started his musical education at 6 years old when his parents signed him up for piano lessons. He took lessons for 4 years, developing a love of classical music and performing. At the age of 10 he decided to join the elementary school concert band, as a percussionist, with encouragement from his mom who noticed that he was always "beating on things." Lucas then started to develop a love of percussion and went on to take private drum set lessons and join the middle school concert band.

In high school, Lucas's talents really started to shine as he went on to become section leader of the marching band percussion section, performed as an all-state percussionist, and also was a member of the percussion section of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. At the age of 18, Lucas decided to pursue a career in music by auditioning at the University of North Texas to study percussion performance. Being awarded a percussion scholarship to attend UNT, Lucas was able to study with world class professors including Robert Schietroma, Henry Okstel, and Ed Smith on various percussion instruments including drum set, vibraphone, marimba, snare drum and timpani. He also played in several ensembles including symphony orchestra, concert band, classical percussion ensemble, steel band, South Indian, Afro-Cuban, gamelan, African, drumline, and contemporary ensemble.

Near the end of his degree Lucas started to perform and teach drum set/percussion in the Dallas Fort-Worth area. He can play and teach a wide array of styles on the drums including pop, rock, country, salsa, jazz and hip-hop. Currently Lucas is playing with 4 bands in the DFW area: The Kerry Davis Jr. Band, The Devereauxs, Los Wedos, and The Chris Diaz Band. Most recently, The Kerry Davis Jr. Band was selected as a finalist for the Shiner Rising Star Competition, and The Chris Diaz Band is currently #75 on the Dallas Pop Charts for their song "Would it Matter."
