Recording artist Julian Gargiulo was born in San Juan, Argentina and moved to the states in 1996. He was raised in Allen, Texas, and found his passion for guitar at age 11 and has continued pursuing his passion ever since, along with other instruments such as drums and bass. Julian later began to play extended-ranged guitars with 7 and 8 strings, and continues to do so today.
Julian attended the University of Texas in Austin for a year before transferring across the country to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, where he studied and graduated with a degree in Guitar and Music Production and Engineering. Julian was exposed to many different styles of music while at Berklee, and applies different techniques from all genres in his own music.
Having moved from Boston, Julian now lives in Austin, Texas, with his touring band "Chronologist" and works as an engineer and assistant at the Machine Shop Studio. When he is not teaching or touring, Julian works here under producer "Machine" (Lamb of God, King Crimson, Clutch) and has worked with Chris Adler and Press to MECO.
Teaching has always been an important factor in Julian's musical career. He emphasizes the importance of using music as a fun creative outlet and views improvisation and songwriting as key components. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Julian landed a teaching position at Matt Burk Music where he gained experience, teaching students of different cultures and all ages. Julian prides himself in his ability to accelerate students in their guitar abilities by applying techniques they wish within the context of the music his students enjoy, making his lessons both fun and informative.
Julian teaches online lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, from all over the country.
